It's Graphics Interchange Format, the G in Graphics is hard. So It's GIF, not Jif. I don't care what the creator says.

I worked at Iomega back in the day. They had Zip drives. A Vietnamese guy I worked with pronounced Zip as Gip. I explained to him that you say it Zip. Saying it as Gip made it sound like a scam. As in getting Gypped by gypsies. It was kind of humorous watching him learn how to say it with a Z sound. He quickly got it right and said Zip like a pro.

Ah yes, let's write pronounciation like usual words and get it more confused, that should be fine!

@vintprox maybe we should just spell it instead of pronouncing it right? like we didn't pronounce IDE as aidee, or CIA as saeeya :D

@rudilee I hardly can see it as a pronounciation, it's more like creating another abomination of the word, which may be perfect for chats and joking around. But there are square brackets and IPA, so I suggest using them for pronounciation.

@vintprox wow, I didn't know there's something like International Phonetic Alphabet, gonna read more on it, thank you :)
