We whitelisted IP range X.X.X.X - Y.Y.Y.Y The application works if we connect from within this range but if we use an IP address from Z.Z.Z.Z we can't connect.

    Shouldn't it be a logical conclusion from Z coming after X and Y?

    So it works as expected?

    I might be an idiot the best of days, but I think this takes the cake.

    I don't understand what those emoticons mean. Sadness, frustration, disappointment, anger, amusement, crying?

    So the ticket is about better documenting the deny-all default policy?
  • 3
    @asgs frustration and anger. definitely.

    @Oktokolo nono. about making it reachable via all IP adresses. currently it is only working via VPN. effectively I need to allow everything or I need to add their public IP adresses to our proxy white list. not possible because I they have dynamic IP adresses. Would be easier to make it public available for everyone.

    @yabbat
    Well, NAT really ruined the internet. It was never meant to have "dynamic" IPs.

    IPv6 for the win!

    @asgs it's a guy throwing a table, i'd say anger and frustration and whatever else might cause it
