College firewall blocks ssh traffic :/ Can't use github :(

Bypass it :P

I use a VPN (OpenVPN) on the 443 TCP port. Try doing the same.

You can use git via https. Github supports it too as far as I know

If that doesn't work, connecting a VPN on port 53 udp usually works :p

@lotd why 53? In my school the only ports open are 80 and 443 TCP, that's why I use OpenVPN on the 443.

@BrianValente dns requests tends to pass by without much inspection :p

I haven't come across a firewall that filters it.. :)

I have however come across ones that forwards 80 and 443 to a reverse proxy that kept terminating the connection :p

@lotd In my school you can use the 53 port to connect ONLY with OpenDNS. Other destinations are rejected.

Another suggestion: Run pivpn on raspberry pi or pritunl on everything else. Then route your traffic over your home network.
