Finally pissed off and desperate enough on an issue that I dropped $25 to promote it...

The following may or may not be an advertisement, but what are you thoughts on this?

In the UK this was getting great coverage.

Selling media rights is so fucked up

@dan-pud ya I know. I VPNd into it to watch the opening, closing and some of the Today in Tokyo shows.

    Even have really good captions...

@lbfalvy selling is ok .. Just don't keep selling to someone that seems to be just interested in buying it to hide it.

In the US, this was like the first year where I knew to look for it (from other reasons) and then went "what the fuck?"

@dan-pud were there nightly broadcasts in prime time? And opportunity generally talking about it?

@donuts If something can be sold then it will be sold to the highest bidder (hopefully accounting for indirect ways to make money), not to the kindest candidate. If you want to involve aspects other than money, you either have to turn them into money or prevent trading with the object.

@lbfalvy yes but the IPC in this case has it's own incentive too since better coverage = more viewers = more funding sponsorship, public support

@lbfalvy sorta like Biden and the Taliban.

Basically said "can't trust them but it's in both of our mutual interested that the evacuation proceeds peacefully" though I forget if that was before or after the ISIS attack

@donuts not really but I think that was mainly time difference.
Although there is a dedicated show called The Last Leg, hosted by disabled comedians that is great
