SERIOUSLY: FUCK YOU PAYPAL...

๐Ÿ–•For your 500 Apis that seemingly do the same fucking thing
๐Ÿ–•For your fucking Webhooks that get dispatched every fucking century
๐Ÿ–•For needing a fucking degree in PayPal sciences to understand which fees apply and when
๐Ÿ–•For doc links that seemingly lead to nowhere
๐Ÿ–•For having to plow through 500 pages on your fucking retarded website to be able to execute or receive a fucking payment
๐Ÿ–•For your casual internal server errors
๐Ÿ–•For your fucking ancient sandbox account design and dysfunctional features therein

Making payments is not fucking rocket science you fucking cunts.

๐Ÿ–•FUCK YOU!๐Ÿ–•

@Kimmax Feel you man. We use both Stripe for Subscriptions and Paypal for checkouts. Guess which one was nothing but a pain in the ass ? Fucking Paypal... Trigger for this rant is their fucking sandbox imploding, I cannot complete any work without it, plus their webhooks are on their period or something because they don't feel like showing up lately, whereas they did just fine days ago with the exact same code. What a fucking piece of shit of a company.

@Kimmax so rage value = 0 given overflow and signed representation?
  • 7
    No fucking words for this
  • 6
@cftw imploded, went to sleep, resettet, implemented 3th method

@nitaj96a Agree on Musk, but Bitcoin or similar cryptocurrencies are not going to be used widely any time soon. Too complicated for the average Jack.

++ for the pure rage. Well done. Let it all out, my freind.

@badcopnodonuts Nope, unfortunately Paypal is a requirement...

@thecritic May the coding gods be with you...
  • 1
@badcopnodonuts Already consulted the coding gods, they said they can't help me with this one ...

@thecritic try Braintree by PayPal, it's not great but an improvement over PayPal API and has most common features.
  • 2
@brod unfortunately Braintree seems like a complete brainfuck to me as well... AFAIK they only offer very restricted functionality like US only payments or sth like that... This whole company is a fucking joke...

Lol I feel you. And don't get me started on their "support" my account has been blocked for over a month because it was linked to an empty bank account i no longer use and it was overdrawn 1euro or something. (I rarely use PayPal these days) so when i tried to contact them to sort things out i was irritated how hard it is to get in touch with an actual employee..No email, no phone number that i can call at daytime here (only us support) it's insane!

Was thinking about using paypal for one of my site, needed to contact them for some shit. One week later without any response. Fuck them, switched to another service.

It's funny how PayPal changed the game way back and was this big monolith in online payment processing. Now other companies are looking at what PayPal is doing wrong and are using that to forge their own business and do it better.

It's funny because you get the feeling that PayPal doesn't even know what kind of fucking problems they have, until the day arrives that they get outrun by competitors.

Being the lead developer for a couple of small webshops in the Netherlands I eventually gave up and switched to a payment provider called "Mollie". Fixed all the issues and the PayPal payments are wired directly to the bank account.

But even while ignoring the api stuff they suck. Even when we can prove a customer fucked up / is plainly lying their refunding system doesn't ever side with the sellers.

@thecritic braintree does not restrict to US only, I have implemented it in both Spain and Norway. Worked like a charm for me, support was amazing and helpful. Some of their new features like Bitcoin and Apple Pay is still restricted to some countries

After a few days of implementing fucking braincrap, everything in the shitbox works well. Then i get an error, and a fucking BITCH from customer service says 'you need $300k a year on paypal's account to enable Reference Transactions'. FUCK YOU PAYPAL YOU PIECE OF SHIT

The paypal api docs suck like a public department in Brazil, they could at least make a decent documentation, all the pages in the docs feels like there's something missing, and you just have to explore other pages to find the missing parts. Right now i'm reading that mess and trying to get it running inside the system.
