A lot of my friends have tried to get into programming, for various reasons. The reason why many of them end up quitting it soon is that they don't understand that programming is thinking, not typing.

    I once met a person that went to the university to study computer science (with lots of programming and math) because he "likes to spend time in front of the computer". He didn't finish the first year

    At least they are right that it does involve some typing. There are some people who think programming must be drag and drop or something. Typing? I'm outta here.

    nowadays there are people who think that writing tons of XML or YAML config files is still programming. programming my ass...
