Usually ones that oppose capitalism are the ones on welfare, forcing taxpayers to pay for them or wannabe tiny dictators. These are incompetent, have no life skills and tries to justify others pay for them.

Just google "How is capitalism bad?" and see for yourself why wellfare leechers aren't the only ones opposed to it. And they aren't the only ones to profit off wellfare either.

They may disproportionately benefit off it and that is unfortunate. But I rather have state-sponsored healthcare and a social safety net as we do in Belgium, than drown in medical bills and student loans for the rest of my life in the heavily privatized and capitalist education & health systems of the US.

I am opposed to full-on capitalism because I have empathy for the ppl who are genuinely less privileged than I am, and I don't mind helping them through a share of my monthly income. In return, I feel safe in the knowledge that I can count on the safety net if I ever endure a prolonged hardship.

You say you have empathy, does that mean people on capitalists economy does not have empathy? So you want to force empathy on to taxpayers even they are unwilling to contribute? Would you take help from a guy that is open to help you or would you rob from a guy and call it empathy?

@jassole I didn't. I'm not saying capitalism is all bad, I said I'm opposed to full-on capitalism. Similarly I am not happy with extreme socialism. With our 50%+ income tax, VAT of 21% and 90% tax-priced cigarettes, I would love for Belgium to become a little less socialist (and businesses would love it too).

Capitalism is focused on own capital gain so no trace of empathy there. You can't levy a tax "only on those who are willing to contribute". For those who want to do extra's there's charity/donations. So yes, you force it onto every citizen as a duty.

I would rather take help from someone offering it willingly, but unfortunately there are too little kind souls to make such a system work at large.

If you force someone to contribute tax, he/she is less likely to contribute voluntary. A society with the premise that any kind of unjust force is evil including involuntary taxes, I'd be more willing to contribute to my charity of choice. I'd be more likely to help my neighbours if taxes were voluntary.

Imagine if you want to network between a specific group of people, starting out with the premise that everyone is greedy won't go much further, which is what current society does.

Any involuntary/unjust force is bound to anger a group of people, case in point: Venezuala and all socialists countries. Which is why capitalism is the only moral system.

@webketje So whoever institutes policies to "ungreedy" are not the wiser themselves, i.e they are looking after their own self interest. Socialism requires a constant fix. Problem is there is no idea which generation will be worse off.

So its an ever-going cycle of politics/economics:

Capitalism -> Socialist policies -> Central government -> Corruption -> More policies to fix corruption -> Authoritarian government -> Either restart or Dictatorship.

What I am saying is capitalism is the best system if you recognise its downsides.
