I was working for a company as a Mobile Developer and I had a recruiter calling me up, asking me if I'd be interested in working for the company I was already as a "UX Designer". I thought it'd be funny to say yes. It wasn't - I was let go because my company thought I was looking elsewhere.

    I didn't, I felt like too much of an idiot to explain myself, so I just had to pack up and leave. I didn't want to say "i said yes because I thought it was funny" when they clearly thought it wasn't haha. I kept some kind of pride. I'm glad that happened though because I'm in a mu

    It's not really, I can't say I was enjoying it there. I've not been let go because of my skill level before - nor would I ever want to be. I'm contracting now, earning 4x what I was in that job. So it's all good now!

    This was one of my earlier jobs, built up a few more years experience before going solo! Well, it happened and everything was confidential but obviously everyone was asking me what happened and I said I left... ... ... yep, I lied...

    In my country, your reason for firing is illegal. You are Always free to roam the job market. And them trapping you into this, in this exact way... wow. #fuckthem

    Yeah, you can get fired for pretty much any reason here. There are reasons you're protected under but a company will always use some bullshit
