Virtual interview starts and the HR lady:

Oh I was expecting a man!!

(I wasn’t expecting you get surprised!?)

Haven’t you ever worked with female developers in your company or know that it is actually not big news? Some companies have a lot of female engineers including the ones I worked for.

In Central Europe in this age of time?

She was a lovely lady though. I just said

I hope you’re pleasantly surprised 😊

    Didn't notice the pic in your CV.

    @codeman no pictures on the CV but you’re right they could have stalked my LinkedIn profile 😁

    You have a very manly CV.

    @Demolishun what’s a manly CV please?

    (My CV is blue maybe I should have made it pinkπŸ€”πŸ€£)

    That's mildly alarming

    @Ceren
    Blue is the official manly man CV color. Pink if for womanly women and the colors between are only allowed for manly women and womanly men.

    Using the wrong color is considered cheating!

    @Oktokolo ditto and we have a rainbow of colours and n number of genders as well

    @Ceren
    Rainbows are strictly for multigender only - and none may be the same as your sex.

    @Ceren

    Instead of listing Skills and Experience you should list Savvy and Moxie. ;-)

    @Oktokolo this is way complicated to discuss in the first interview. I think I will also send them a small assessment in testdome.

    Please identify the gender identity of the candidate by assessing the colour scale on their CV efficiently without tagging them within the given period of time.

    If they pass the tests with optimised space, time and gender complexity they might have the honour to have variety of genders.

    I wasn't expect to "hehe", but then again I expected to not expect a "hehe". Have a pleasant day πŸ‘

    I don't think it's about sexism.

    It's about the fact that this HR Lady didn't even bother running a background check on you, checking your LinkedIn profile or even asking someone about your given name's gender

    Also seen this response with first names that are not familiar to the recruiter (other way around to, expecting a woman)
