I realize that people are breaking the rules. No longer social distance themselves and wear mask.

Here's some idea hold your fart and release it in a closed room and say this "if you don't care about an invisible pathogen , why would you concerned about an invisible atom bomb? "

People are tired. We're not used to be held psychologically and some cases phtsically captive for so long.

The irony is, that we only had to sit on our asses and follow strict rules for a month or two when it all started. It might've never escaped from wuhan and it could've stayed an epidemic and we could've contain it... But nooooo people just had to travel and states had to shit their pants when it came to a hard lockdown... So we fucked it up and we'll be paying for that weakness for almost 2 years now...

But you know what? I think it doesn't matter anymore. The main point of protection once this became a pandemic was to ease pressure on hospitals and give us time while we look for treatment. With every passing wave we're moving closer to herd immunity like the idiots always wanted. It's likely that if you add vax'd people + recovered you'll start approaching 75%+ of immune and symptompless people at this point anyway.

Imo we already fucked up and passed the hard way

@Hazarth you are naive if you can lockdownpeople for one month everywhere at once. Do you close hospitals, police stations? Who will deliver the food…

@aviophile Ofc its a game of Balance, but would you really not agree that it could've been done better?

The first cases in EU were all by random people that were either afraid they wouldn't be let home if anyone knew they have Symptoms or people that though that rules don't apply to them.

You can keep your internal infrastructure mostly intact, but going out/in through borders should've been strictly monitored and forbidden for everyone except essential personel.

Would it suck? Yes, but it would suck for less time. Being jobless for a month beats being jobless for 6 because everyone is in a state of uncertainty and panic.

That being said, Im not an epi/pandemic expert. But to me it looked like my Gov had absolutely no idea of what they are doing, there were no decisions made and everyone was just kinda walking around the issue until it popped. Constantly juggling election favors and practicality... It should've been all practicality and preemtive
