Recruiters who cold e-mail me get hard and specific questions before I ever give them a resume and phone number. Been doing this too long to just randomly hand a resume and contact info to whoever. YOU came to ME. Make it worth my while.

I wrote phone number and email on my linkedin page yet they ask me for contact details so don’t feel like they’re sending anything else then templates.

I don’t think corporations are allowed to send personalized messages.

So true, I agree with you @stackodev. The main goal should be to get to know the candidate, where their experience lies and what their career goals are, before shoving job profiles and technical questions down the person's throat.

@Rozanne I’m actually ok with going straight to the details. The “career goals” talk is usually just high level fluffing up of the company the recruiter is hiring for and the opportunity there when we all know that most job environments suck in some way or another. What I want is for them not to be coy about the good, bad, and ugly about the company, exactly what the job is, how much it pays, what the extra benefits are, whether i can work from home, whether the boss is cool or kind of a jerk, etc. Get right down to it.
