    well, if anything, it's more reachable by the average joe now.

    Decentralisation is nice. It's just these greedy bitches that give it a bad reputation in form of umbrella term "Web 3.0".
  • 10
    Quite the opposite. Crypto is shit but now at least it's funny.
  • 7
    nope, because i'm not a complete idiot, so my motivation for "blockchain" and "pointless marketing term for an el dorado of scammers" never WAS up.

    @vintprox

    "decentralization" without regulations will quickly become a feudal hellscape full of monopolies.

    Web3.0 was a stupid buzzword from the beginning, nothing more than marketing scam for a quick cash grab from the financial elites.

    @msdsk could be said about everything.
  • 3
    @max19931 True. But a technology with the promised selling points "decentralised" and "no (financial) authorities" should not create central (financial) monopolies, should it?
  • 5
    @sbiewald only the technology is decentralised. the _system itself_ is very centalised.
  • 1
    Web3 is a horrible idea anyway
  • 3
    @sbiewald except there are financial authorities. The ones who control the mining algorithms. The ones who have the most stake in a POS system. The ones who have the most mining power in the POW system. There's no way to not have authority. But it is much easier to scam with the "web 3" stuff.

    I think that landscape will be cleared from some not so well rounded projects. I’ll stick with near (and rust) for now

    @iiii hooray for indian brethern!
  • 0
    @melezorus34 eh? Why indian?
  • 0
    @iiii "tech support".
  • 0
    @melezorus34 eh? I am confused...
  • 3
    Cheaper hardware (especially GPUs), stopping guzzling through immense amounts of energy for nothing.
  • 4
    Nah, i am not a scammer nor filthy rich. So i have no use case for cryptocurrencies and therefore constant zero motivation to use it.

    Current price doesn't matter when you don't want the product anyways...

    @iiii sorry for my racist behaviour but there is a very known thing that many indian scams are made via pretending they are tech support from microsoft or google. Since it's widely known, it's often openly joked about.
  • 0
    @melezorus34 I fail to understand the context in which tech support is relevant here...

    > But it is much easier to scam with the "web 3" stuff.

    Well, to all the cryptominers out there, I've got a message for you lot: thanks for the GPU shortage and the price inflation, you assholes!

    I'd say, good riddance.

    Sincerely,
    Someone who wants to build his own fucking gaming rig.

    I love how this community treats crypto

    @melezorus34 oooooooooh. Now I get it

    I respect everyone's opinion on this matter and I'm just trying to figure it out better. I see all this as additional opportunities for development and accordingly I want to use them. And I found a reliable source for software development for my startup https://evacodes.com/ A quality start is very important for me and I hope that this will help to develop a huge potential and bring my project to a high level.
