I remember attending a conference back in 95 where they presented the new Netscape Navigator 2.0 with support for:
*tada* <FRAMESET>

The demo website they proudly demonstrated had a menu in the left frame and the page content in the (large) frame to the right. Pretty standard.

The first question they got from a guy in the audience (not me): "How does this work with bookmarks?"
