Cons of training your models on your local machine: you better make sure auto-updates are really turned off or you'll get an hour of training data before your machine reboots.

Seriously, that's ultimately why I abandoned Windows. I turned off auto updates by group policy and it STILL rebooted one hour into what should have been an all-night model training process.

In my experience, you can get the omelette faster when using the microwave instead.

Bonus hint: Adding a barely visible amount of lecithin before stirring it makes the ingredients mix better and without lumps.

Train it in winters to warm up your room :)

@dontbeevil I only blamed Windows because I'm speaking from personal experience and never tried training a model on a Mac before.

I'm not surprised OP mentioned frying an egg on their Mac though. They run hot in general.
