    what......???

    @netikras cars are deducted from your income tax in Belgium.

    @ostream but I guess they pay a large amount of car taxes, so in the end are you paying really more than them?

    I was gonna say what @zemaitis suggested ... with E.U. putting a squeeze on carbon emissions and trying to reduce internal combustion engine vehicles to a minimum .... car owners continuously pay a hefty sum just for taxes, fuel and upkeep of the vehicle (and this is indifferent of their income - you have to pay it wether you're employed or not).

    Heck, you can't just up and leave the car if you can't afford the car anymore... you have to pay for parking or disposal (or face hefty fines when caught).

    I don't watch normal TV, or own any device with a tuner. But from 2024 I will be forced to pay for a TV license in the country I'm living in. 340 euros per year, for nothing.

    @theKarlisK that's fucking insane.

    @ojt-rant same. That taxation is truly a theft. I don’t watch it!

    In my country you're considered a neolib capitalist pig just for that piece of common sense.

    @zemaitis yeah I'm also paying a large amount of breathing their shit

    @theKarlisK pooor baby

    "and this is indifferent of their income - you have to pay it wether you're employed or not"

    Hum I don't have to pay it and I don't. I don't have a car. Why should I pay for your little pollution machine? -_-

    @ostream I don't have a car either?

    @theKarlisK nobody asked you to take one in the first place. Of course youh have to pay to dispose of it. Who do you think's paying to put your concrete shit so you can move your polluting fat ass, the hospital for the people getting hit or sick because of fine particules and all the other way cars are decreasing overall quality of life?

    @theKarlisK well then why are you defending them?

    It's fucking unfair that my colleagues gets 20k more a year because I decided I didn't need to pollute tf out of everything around me

    @ostream I'm not defending anyone, I'm stating the facts... it's up to you to consider them or to get salty and spew nonsense. As for your salary, it's up to you to speak up or suffer in silence - it's an issue between your employer and you, you should speak up about it and if your employer is not interested or willing to compensate adequately for the work you do, warn them that you're starting to look for a job elsewhere and that you will be handing in your formal notice as soon as possible and that they should start looking for a replacement. Or fuck it - ask for a company car and get the 20k/year on paper ... you don't have to have a drivers license to own any kind of vehicle (may vary from country to country).

    @theKarlisK what tf would I do with a company car?

    And no it have nothing to do with my employer. It's the state fiscality.
