Every sacrifice you make for your job will be forgotten in a minute and won’t be rewarded unless you force their hand.

Luckily, I outsourced this experience and have never made sacrifices.

    One of the reasons I don't go above and beyond anymore. The idea that a company can chop me when they feel like it, really hampers my motivation to do extra.

    And this isn't some quiet quitting bullshit either.
    I was at a startup where I worked almost 19-20 hour shifts to get work done for them because they were always scheduling their shit wrong. But it didn't matter I wanted to prove my value. A month later and they fire me anyways.

    Yeah,@iSwimInTheC , in the interview i also tell them i dont want to be maintainer of legacy project or dont want overtime.
