How can one accidentally download it? And is there any known source from where it can be downloaded

@maryn it targeted any Windows system that had the smb exploit which was everything between xp and windows 10 (if it wasn't updated since March I believe)

@maryn it was a exploit the nsa was using, Microsoft didn't know about it until March and released a patch for everything including xp which they officially don't support anymore. ideally if everyone will apply the update wannacry will be a security joke in a few years
