Core i7 with 16GB Ram...
Will Gradle stop torturing me?

16 GBs should be more than enough

I have a Dell with i7 and 8gb of RAM and Android studio runs smoothly. When I first run it after buying my new laptop I thought someone was messing with me. So 16gb with i7 should be more than enough.

Old setup was i3 with 4gb of RAM

Throw in a graphics card with that and nobody will torture you

If that i7 is quad core then yes
