Ctrl+Shift+W to close terminal tabs
Ctrl+Shift+T open terminal in new tab
Or just Ctrl+D to exit terminals (tabs) without typing exit
Ctrl + Backspace does NOT delete every word just acts like regular Backspace :(
But Ctrl+Del acts like normal but does not delete char by char instead whole words O.o (I want this for backspace too)
Tested on gnome-terminal (mostly the same on most terminal emulators) -

j0n4s54342y@jackpearce yes ctrl+d is the EOT control character
https://geeksforgeeks.org/control-c...
The ctrl+shift ones are probably gnome specific -
@devRancid Then you didn't added this to ~/.inputrc , best config i ever made:
## arrow up
"\e[A":history-search-backward
## arrow down
"\e[B":history-search-forward -
@devRancid But ~/.inputrc is recognized by many other programs as well, such as Python interpreter, cgdb, vim, ... which normally don't have this behaviour.

@jackpearce The ctrl-shift ones are terminal emulator specific. I know Konsole uses them. But when you use something like tmux you don't need tabs in your emulator.
