@phat-lasagna It doesn't come in waves. You just happen to feel it more when your reality dissociator struggles to keep up with the disparity between the replica of reality you want to believe and the replica of reality your subconscious perceives.

As a human, it is important to have a few immutable beliefs matching your core personality that aren't affected by actual perception of reality because adjusting them could result in a very unpleasing mental state that isn't easy to get out of again.
