the worst part about studying networks is that I can't even say it's useless and that i won't use it in my life, because it's very not true. it's a pain, but god dammit I should know this shit

    So they understand I was trying to relearn things because I had a surplus of time not working in my field. So when that is being mimicked that is what is required

    Yeah that's annoying. As devs there's thousands of topics that are practically not that useful to our careers but they are not entirely useless either.

    I'd say that as long as most of your education is meaningful - having that barely useful niche knowledge becomes a fun trivia thing later in your career.

    Talking to other devs most of us have that one weird niche skill which, if nothing else, is fun to talk about
