I heard in Switzerland Zürich the salary of a beginner junior dev is not below 100k. Is this true?

I don't think the vast majority of junior devs in Zürich makes more than 100'000 CHF a year. There are some that make more.

(I live in Switzerland and not to far from Zürich, but i don't work there).

@horus Lol what hatred im trying to see if i should move out of my shithole country and work in Switzerland now that i have a degree

@galena how huge is huge? Expenses depend on how you spend your lifestyle. I am here to invest my money and not spend it on bullshit events that generate me happiness. I dont want to be happy i want to have a lot of money

@b2plane Don't, we turn slowly but surely into Sodom. Well, i guess it is the same everywhere, so it doesn't really matter.

Judging from the recruiter spam it's more like 70k Euro for a relatively junior position, but with very high expenses (esp. rent, groceries - easily 2x compared to Germany) and generally you're required to be on-site. You'll likely have better saving rate with 45k-50k in Germany. Also your stay in Switzerland pretty much depends on the employment, so the company has a lot of leverage.

@b2plane Probably going to your landlord! But really: I don't have firsthand experience working there, but must recommend you to research on living expenses & taxation, working conditions & labor laws, currency risk, etc.

Don't be fooled by a high salary before expenses without realizing that you need 3000€/month* net for basic living.

    * random figure pulled out of my ass

@saucyatom then what about moving to dubai and working there in some tech company? Dubai has 0% tax and they are rich as shit. They can pay me a lot and as long as i keep my expenses low i could live great?

@b2plane If you ask me personally, differences in culture (and possibly working conditions) are not worth it, no matter how much they can pay.
