* Shower if your head feels heavy.
* A simple change to your theme or fonts
* Change of body posture: standups or sitting.
* Switch between desktop and laptop.
* Switch OSes, linux and OSX (good way to also ensure your config/build is portable)
* Long occasional morning/evening walks to think of solutions.
* Throw some shit on the political left on devrant..

Send me some coffee if you find these tips helpful. xD

I honestly think long term the coding game is more sustainable without stimulants. Caffeine will make you overwork.

For abnormal people having no medical conditions, it really boils down to stimulants, carbs and distraction.

Use as few stimulants and carbs as possible to keep the brain fully powered. And distract yourself for a short time when you feel getting foggy too early. That and enough sleep.

@Oktokolo long term fasting helps too tbh

    I like OP tricks better than becoming a carb-monk / no-coffee streightedge

To be fair my best coding state would be me naked in a big plush beanbag chair with a stand for my mouse and keyboard and a huge ass monitor in front of me. I have huge glass windows and it’s raining outside, as I play John Tejada records on my surround sound system. My twelfth cup of espresso at my side as I puff on a big cigar. I have done 1-2 lines at this point, and I am snacking on swedish fish. However, this lifestyle can’t be reality every day.
