Is having a CV history of job hopping within a year the standard? Are you still getting great job offers?

I'm aiming to spend another 2 years in my company just because the flexibility and work pacing is good, but need to know if job tenure is a big deal or not and start chasing more competitive salaries.

    Depends on country I guess.

I'm almost at 9 years since I job hopped. I Probably should pay more attention to the world.

@aaronswart it's always a trade off, I had changed 5-6 companies so far and am already planning my next hop... I just can't find a place that fills all my needs ( or just shitty management, boss... already got 1 burn out )

@C0D4 if you r happy with your current position and the payment is good I don't see a reason for hopping, unless it's really repetitive work without any progress on your skill and you are really bored by that ;)

It is not the standard. 1 year per job is a bit on the short side and having at least been 2-3 years at one place can be more "standard".

    But it's usually fine.
If you've got a 4 year career with 4 jobs I wouldn't mind. You learn a lot from changing jobs and we all know for juniors the first job can have a low salary, so you move up, then you try something new a few times before you find something you love.

But a 12 year career without more than one year per job might make management think twice and want to double check you're not a "habitual job hopper".

it depends a lot on the job/codebase though, with that much experience you can be trusted to do most tasks. Allthough if they normally have people stay for 4 years and there's a lot of education - they might not wanna invest in a job hopper.
