When the interviewer asked where I saw myself in 5 years, I tried so hard not to say "In your seat asking better questions"

"In prison if you don't stop asking stupid questions"

"Probably getting laid off in a company wide email / zoom call."

A couple of years ago, a potential candidate answered, he would like to work in the music industry; like becoming a DJ. He was interviewing to become a programming trainee. Obviously he didn't get the job.

Just give them a broad direction of your goals and interests. Then ask them, where this company sees themselves in five years. An interview always goes both ways.

@SuspiciousBug a former senior dev colleague is also a DJ in the weekends. Don't see how you can't hire someone that doesn't only code well but sound good while doing so.
