*Reports bug on Firefox (bugzilla) 3 months ago*
*spend a lot of time being clear and descriptive as possible*
*gets literally no attention*
*someone else reports the exact same bug 5 days ago but with a picture and less words*
*everyone responds*
*mfw I didn’t know you could add pictures 😑*
*my bug gets closed for being a duplicate even though it’s the original*

Fuck you cunts

sooo - is it about "bugs getting fixed", or about "you getting recognition for reporting a bug"?

Meanwhile chromium maintainers with a bug that makes videos play with 3fps:
"Uhhh hmmm we don't even know our own software and don't want to provide support for CLI flags mkay? let's drop the priority and ignore it for years 🤡"

@tosensei If i report a bug and see that the report is just ignored, i don't report another one. Reporting bugs is effort too. And if a project would close my report as duplicate even though it came first, that is the last report they got.

And closing bug reports for boguos reasons is equivalent to the famous "Nobody asked" reply in a conversation (which somehow seems to be more a pure online thing as nobody i know in the meatspace is that rude).

@devRancid That's gitlab developers in a nutshell. What do you mean you want to reference files from the repo in its wiki? that's much too complicated. You can reference other wiki pages, but we won't allow you to go one folder above in the relative path.

6 years. They just talk talk talk, come up with a reason why it's not feasible at the time and bury it. It's like they think being OS is enough to compete with github. It's not. It's like using github from 5-10 years ago, with none of the customizations that make sense.

That sucks especially the being ignored part. While taking action. Is does make sense to choose your report as duplicate though as all the discussion is already taking place in the new one.
If I was a maintainer I would likely at your description. And give you some credit.

A picture is worth a thousand words comes to mind...

@hjk101 yeah like damn bro just say “original reported bug, marked as duplicate” instead of just “duplicate”
