What was the order of install? Windows likes to nuke all in it's way.

You'll have to install grub again. Happened to me once.

And remember to disable fast boot in windows. Otherwise windows will store its state on the HDD in some particular way which prevents linux from booting

@7400 how do I disable fast boot, never heard of it?

It's a somewhat hidden option that got me the first two times I made a dual boot installation. First google result seems OK: https://tenforums.com/tutorials/...

Boot live, mount root, mount --bind proc, sys, dev and mount boot directly. Chroot to root, update-grub and then grub-install /dev/whereEverYouBootFrom

Ah, yes. I didn't recall the actual reason why fast boot let my linux boot sequence fail. Thanks!

It seems as if it has come across an error 15. Maybe it can't find some sort of file. Have you tried turning it off and on again?
