b2plane63952y@NoToJavaScript I'm actually looking to get a job. But considering you have to apply to 100 jobs to maybe get a reply and offer to get hired at just 1 -- is mind bending to me. I do not take this seriously so I'll spam the shit out of 1000 unique companies not because i have nothing better to do but because i genuinely need to get a job. So fuck you sir.
-
@b2plane And that’s why you’ll never be hired.
I looked for the job 4 times in my life.
All 4 times I contacted not more than 2 compagnies.
Always got hired by my first choice.
Spaming your CV will get you no where. You probably don’t even research the company you are applying to. Like does RH who will interview you like Opera ? Or ZGolf ? Or tv series ? etc. -
b2plane63952y@NoToJavaScript when i research thoroughly a company before applying i always ended up wasting my time. Either no reply or got rejected. If no one respects my time or me why should i give a shit about researching any company? Fuck all of them. Just give me the fucking money and I'll work. Crazy how easy it is to lose money and so HARD to earn a fucking CENT
-
@NoToJavaScript While i also never actually hunted for jobs, that probably isn't the normal for the majority out there. Apart from different requirements and skills to offer, there are also regions and industries with shittier job markets than others. And i got all my jobs by knowing someone somehow while definitely not being an extrovert and spending zero time "networking". If i would assert that it is easy to find a new job, that sure as hell would be pure survivorship bias.
And nope, profiling employees of a potential future employer isn't what you should need to do for getting a job - except when you work in a business where profiling strange people is your job (fullstack pentester may be one of them, private investigator another).
@bigmonsterlover Sounds more frustrated and/or desperate to me. -
@Oktokolo I’m not telling “profile emploees”
But I have an exemple. We are looking for a QA person.
After initial blast of 100+ linkdin applicatiojn, we selected 5 to talk to.
My first question is “Why do you want to work in our company and what do you think we do ?”
4 out 5 failed to even define our company. They didn’;t even bother to google company name.
Guess what ? The ONE who did it got the job. -
b2plane63952y@NoToJavaScript i will care to bother researching the company only after the company bothers to show they give a fuck about me by first replying to my email and saying we can schedule an interview
-
ess3sq1632y@b2plane that's not how this works. Why should they hire you instead of the many other applicants who spent more time researching? Drop the entitled attitude and you might finally get a job
-
b2plane63952y@ess3sq we havent even reached the point of conversation about their company. Its not entitled behavior it's called having boundaries and self respect. Im not gonna let these bullshit corporations walk over me like a corpse. I dont give a fuck about them until they first prove to me why they matter by replying to my job request. Its the LEAST you can do. Only after their reply will i care to research about them BEFORE the interview
-
ess3sq1632y@b2plane the issue is that it you send them a generic motivational statement because you are applying to 1000 jobs and lack the time to write a statement specific to the place you're applying - you are already at a disadvantage compared to someone who researched the company in order to write a motivational statement specific to the position. Having a clue about their projects and tying them to your "interests" goes a long way.
