I was on glassdoor today, and a survey came up. The survey looks like market research for a product that sounds like it will be exactly like one of my side projects... Deciding if it's worth scrambling to beat them to market with what's barely a MVP and no marketing resources, or just chalking it up as fun and good experience.

    If they are doing the same thing, it's hard to tell how good they will do it. Tim and I have always said that it's not who does it first, but rather who executes it the best and gets a little traction first. So maybe don't even worry about beating them to market. It's possible they will execute poorly making the likelihood of them gaining any traction less.

    @dfox That's a great point. Besides, there's no bureaucratic tape for me: just me and my sever! haha. I think I'm ready for beta now (a rough one), just buttoning up a couple bugs and deployment scripts.

    @tomwolters I plan to! I think that you guys/gals may actually be part of my target market, anyways. It's a simple web app to keep track of what jobs you've applied to, which recruiters suck, etc.

    @g-m-f ...no.

    It's compilation complaints. :-p

    Did you know there was a "magic cab" before there was an "Uber"? Neither did anyone else. Put in the work and do it better.

    And there were pre NetFlix poorly executed attempts.
