I need your help please !
I'm about to buy a netbook to use it as a portable dev environment ; it should be able to run Eclipse, some code editor, GCC, and a virtual machine.
I've found a Lenovo E135 with 8GB RAM for only 100€ but the main problem is that his processor is an AMD E2-2000 (only 1,75GHz, and AMD)... Will it be enough to do what i want ?
I've also found a Lenovo Thinkpad x230 with a Core i5 (2,6 GHz) and 4 GB RAM for only 170€ but the problem there is the battery (the core i5 consume much more power)
Which one should i buy ? (Knowing that i have only 100€ but i could manage to get the missing 70€ for the x230)
Thanks for your help !

Where the fuck are you actually getting a core i5 computer? In your place i would definitely buy a the thinkpad... But maybe depending on your need you might not need a i5 cpu by which you can save 70€... What kind of work are you thinking of doing on that computer and what kind of OS ?

@sam0 thanks for your advice, i would like to multiboot linux/windows 10 in my dreams but i think i will go with either win10 + cygwin or some linux distro
I'm actually working on an operating system kernel (as a personal project) so i would need to run qemu or something like that
I also develop softs in C or Java and apps for Android with Android Studio

Well it's look like you can do most of your projects on u'ix based system which means low memory reservation for the system itself, but to be honest i5 at this coast is pretty rare here... You might want to get it. What kind of architecture you are basing your os on?

@sam0 I'm basing my os on x86 arch, but the main problem with UNIX is that i wouldnt be able to use the Windows library in C (seems logical), what i usually do (i'm not used to develop on *nix)
I've found theses computers on leboncoin

That amd is slow. You will feel it every time. Buy the i5 and x230 is a good model.

Just a side note, my personal experience with 4gb RAM, i5 and Android Studio is that it can barely run.

I would recommend if possible to go for 6gb RAM for a less upsetting experience.

@tmux yes, i already have a 2GB DDR3 memory from an old laptop, and on the x230 there are 2 slots and only 1 is used by a 4GB memory bar, so i'll add them as soon as i get it

I've actually coded from a chromebook, so no need for hardcore hardware. Granted, the chromebook was connected to a 8-core server with 32GB of ram running Eclipse Che... But I stand by my assertion!
