How do I be successful before I be successful?!
Be failed first!
Just do it , anything you do for it is kind of experience. -
TheShell3057yBuilding portfolio: create some projects and share them on git or work on some open source projects on git. This way you'll get your name out there and you'll have something to show at a job interview.
Additionally, you will get actual experience! -
Neo-2627yWhen i graduated there was a small ressesion. Job postings looked liked this
Junior dev. Min 5years experiance..... -
* Register a company. Pay small fee, it comes with benefits. Choose a silly name, see http://time.com/70206/... Anything with "studio" for design/frontend and "consulting" for backend/data work well too. This is not your life, just your starting point.
* Congratulations, you're now a CTO. Add that shit to LinkedIn. Add everything you touch to LinkedIn.
* Do freelance work, build a portfolio.
* Build things modular, and as much as possible as a "platform". Are you building the same cms/app/system over and over? Does it consolidate into something reusable? Make it easy to resell, add a "pricing" button at the top of your website.
* Open source a bunch of your modular libraries on Github using your company name.
* When you bite down into a technical problem and find a nice solution for it, write a blog article. Even if it's a previously solved problem.
Your own company + Portfolio + Open Source contributor + Techblogger = HR/Recruiter's wet dream.
How do i get the experience before i get the experience??! #jobhunt
