Moved house on Friday, everything sorted but will have to wait up to 10 days for broadband and stuff to go live.

It's like living in the dark ages...

Fucking hell. I don't know where you live but here in germany seting up the new internet connection is by far the most difficult and tidyous part of moving. Why is this so hard?

Where do you live? Here in Sweden it usually takes less than a day.

If my net stops working for even 3 hours, it messes me up. Damn dude, 10 days. Thats gonna suck. Our thoughts and prayers are with you that you are able to survive these 10 days without internet xD

In Germany, most of the fiberglass and broadband lines belong to Telekom.

So if you're a customer of some third-party company renting the cables for your connection, a technician from Telekom still needs to hook you up. And because you're not a Telekom customer they take their time... Like a lot of time. There have been cases where connecting to the internet took up to two months.

    Welcome to fucking 2017

I'm in the UK, and we get our phone, satellite and broadband through sky.

Hopefully it won't take too long to get set up.

The last company I worked for moved offices, and it took over a year for the new broadband etc to get set up.

Apparently the council took their time getting planning permission for the road to get dug up etc
