Does anyone else ever get the feeling that it'd be easier to teach everyone in their company SQL than make an internal app?

Note: don't do what my firm did and let users loose on the production server for queries. Bar the security risks, someone clearly didn't think that amateurs could cripple a server by writing bad long running queries which shits on the performance and holds up several thousand other users. Do it on a read only replica ffs

Users WILL find a way to fuck shit up if you leave them anything more than a controlled access point to the data.
