Am I the only one who doesn't like calling MySQL as "my sequel"?

    I'm one of those weird people that calls it "My Sequel", but normally I pronounce it S-Q-L

    And how do you pronounce SQLite? Sequelite? S-Q-Lite?

    I call it my-S-Q-L.
    But I call Qt Cute and not Q-T.

    Pretty sure the Microsoft-backgrounded people introduced this pronunciation, as their sales and training people call their product "sequel server." I think it just caught on from there. I pronounce the letters S Q L every time.

    This rant is going to spark something quite funny in the IT department tomorrow.

    We already had the tabs vs spaces (over rated I know, but the one guy likes to argue about anything - so I generally just rile him up and watch him go mad about something small).

    Something to make the Monday morning more fun.

    @ragnarr023 reminds me of 'The Office (US)'

    @SubhrajyotiSen
    Never watched that.

    But I'm supposing that it would be similar to that (will have to now go and watch it and then make a knowledgeable opinion on the matter).

    All my colleagues call it 'sequel', I call it S-Q-L.
    I don't pay attention because those twats can't even join two tables, not even to save their lives.

    @lotd müsqli sounds quite Swiss German :p

    I always use s-q-l as it works best with the different types. My s-q-l, postgres-q-l, s-q-lite, ..

    @AlmostPerfekt I'm part German, so I guess that's not entirely off :)

    people who say "sequel" are probably just pronouncing it that way because it's become a colloquial term, like gif instead of the real pronunciation "jif". if they took thirty seconds to read the history/evolution of the language it would be clear it's "s-q-l". sigh.

    Sequel to what? Version one?

    Definition: "A sequel is a narrative, documental, or other work of literature, film, theatre, television, music or video game that continues the story of, or expands upon, some earlier work."

    I liked when select * happened on tablex.
