It's so goddamn hard to get work on freelancer, upwork, people per hour sites when you're just starting, how are you meant to get your foot in the door when nobody fives you chance!

    Set yourself the task of developing a portfolio, if you've already got one improve upon it.
    It's literally the only way to brute force your way into the cluster fuck that is known as freelancing.

    The main problem I have on Upwork is that people from countries like India, who need less money to buy food etc., are able to do a job for like 5 dollars while 20 (for example) would be a reasonable price.

    But some clients avoid working with cheap devs so keep trying.

    I started out doing small fixes and easy jobs though.

    Stay positive. Be aggressive. Find crappy sites and explain how you can vastly improve.The work is out there. It only takes one yes.
    Outsourcing has many drawbacks. Many companies that tried it are now insourcing.
