I am new to this, is Ubuntu the best for web developers? Let me know!

It's easy to learn and a good start. I personally started with elementary os and I'm soon switching over to Arch.

I think Elementary OS is a great start. I wanted to write some good arguments for that, but then accidentally clicked on the grey background and it all went away, so just take my word for it because I'm not typing all of that again.

I also wanted to write some reasons why it sucks, but didn't get to that, so here it goes:
    1. Virtual desktops work only on the main screen.
    2. Screen arrangement options SUUUUUUUUUUCK. Every screen has to be next to the built-in screen if you're on a laptop. And you can't stack them vertically. Any attempt at using the command line for this will make the UI just unusable.
    3. The app launcher kinda sucks because it forces you to use a key combo instead of a single key.
    4. Touchpad options are very limited.

If any of that is a mood killer, might I suggest KDE? Because Gnome3 on Ubuntu SUUUUUUUCKS because it's riddled with bugs that nobody wants to fix, yet it works so nicely on Fedora.

I'd say if you are considering to get ubuntu, get mint instead. it's basically a mostly better working version of ubuntu. at least for me it was
