My PC died 2 weeks ago. I've been stuck on mobile since and will be too broke for a new machine for an indefinite (though certainly not infinite) period.

It's hell. One can only read so many ebooks and meditate so much.

What's the longest you've ever been without your machine, unwillingly?

Worst part is I was just starting a pet project and now it's on hold!

Pic related, my feels as time drags on when I'm not at work.

Buy a otg cable to connect your keyboard to your phone and buy a vps. Then just ssh(or everything vps provides) it's not perfect but helps.

@shelladdicted I've been increasingly looking into setting up a mobile-based workflow. Certainly not the most comfortable, but some things can work. Thanks!

Longest time without a pc that wasnt holiday (I asume) was 15 years ago when (kid you not) the cops took my pc and laptop away pending an investigation (I know)...
I had like 20 US at the time so I bought a used shitbox and got a free CRT monitor, this was 5 days after the incident =). I couldn't work so I dedicated my days on a 256 MB ram pc and learn how to code. Thats why I hear kids these days saying shit like "IDE TOO SLOW!", nigga plz...!

    True story bro!

If you have Android, install termux. I can run almost everything I need in it.

@ItsNotMyFault since 2010 I have had at least 3 laptops in my house at all times. It is important to be prepared for the worst.

While in high school, my parents learned I was in a long-distance relationship and confiscated my computer for six months. Three months in I stole it back because what the fuck.

A year later I ended up moving in with her when they went on vacation.
