It kills me that a lot of people on here choose Linux distros based solely on desktop environments. Its Linux guys, you can make it whatever you want. You should decide between distros because of package managers or frequent updates or active communities, not because of how pretty it is out of the box. You can make it as pretty as you want.

    This may be true but I find that many distros are better for specific desktop environments. So far Arch has proven good enough for a lot of environments, but the KDE packages in say, KDE neon are definitely a cut above the KDE packages in Debian.

    @jchw very true, and that's kind of my point, at the end of the day, you might choose Arch because of their incredible community and the AUR. Sure you're doing that because it supports KDE a bit better, but support is a great reason to choose one distro over another. My logic is getting a bit circular at this point but hopefully I'm making sense.

    If I'd had time to customise my distro as I wanted I'd be jobless. So I'll take whichever distro is closest to the one I would build myself. And that's raspbian
