Started learning to code and built applications using spring, hibernate, jsf and sql dbs. Never called ourselves 'full stack bitches'! And now, with these JS toys around, no one is less than a full stack ninja! Fckin' full stack experts everywhere!

Yup, biggest buzzword nowadays with zero meaning.

That's because in the past you didn't have such complex UI.

@AndSoWeCode Yes, point taken. But does that actually matter? Complex UIs filter out humble web devs from full stack web superheroes?

@erik404 Zero meaning for some, for others, it's becoming a topic to flaunt. Cool as they like to call it!

@null-pointer OK, so I'm one of those full-stack devs. Almost. I have experience in both UI/UX, with lots of JS development in the past. Also got backend experience.

The problem is that I don't have the REQUIRED experience with today's "hip" frameworks. Nothing that a 1-2 months training on front-end, and then the same on back-end can't fix.

The problem is that even if I do get that intensive training, and do become a full stack developer in its full strength, it would only be for a short while. That's why where I work at, we have both back-end devs, and front-end devs. I know much more about front-end than our back-end devs do, and I know much more about back-end than our front-end devs do.
    (that's a brain twister)

Anyway, if you know Java technologies, congrats! You can be a back-end developer. If you know a bit of JS, that doesn't make you full-stack yet. Ace it, and then you will be.
