Client wants a webapp where every label on all form inputs are configurable, even the fucking login form ("Login" and "Password" text)

They also want it to send emails where the message is configurable too (they can insert your own HTML)

so basically they want the entire fucking webapp to be configurable, all without requiring any code change.

I could use a "configurable" torture device right now.

I've had projects delayed into obselescence bc of this sort of thing. To the point where i have twice as much features and still no one using the system.

Its not a good sign, rhat these businesses cant lock down a few processes and follow a busineas model once in a while

@plumbus I suspect our clients wanted the app to be customizable/configurable everywhere so that we won't need developers anymore in case they wanted to change something.

I think after they used us and got what they wanted, then they can dispose of us.

@silly-symphony do you think thats a reasonable expectation? Is it well documented exactly what they want? Im not being funny honestly wondering bc i get similar requests and i dont handle them how id always like to..

If it's only text that must be configurable, use translation labels and give them a translation tool (pootle or anything custom made)

@plumbus I feel like the features they asked for are downright ridiculous.

@willol If only that is what they want then it will be super easy.

But alas, they meant that they can change the form labels to any text they want. :/

@silly-symphony well yes, with à translation tool they can change texts, that's what it is for
