From you guys get the inspiration to start programming. Only one in my life I've come up with an idea.

Can it be because I spend most of my day programming at work that at home I want to unwind?

I wish I had that problem.

    *Saturday 6am I wake up*

Me: Great, I got an hour of two to work on this idea I've had in my head all week.

    *6:10 child wakes up*
    Child: Daaaaaad!!

Me: why do you wake up so early, you usually wake up between 7 and 8.

Child, ignoring my question: play with me!

Me thinking: I'll get some coding down tonight after he falls asleep.

After a day full of a child that wants to be with me 100% of the time he finally falls asleep in his bed at 9 o'clock. The only problem is that so did I. Closer to midnight I get a kick in my back from child moving around. I get up brush my teeth and go to bed.

Next morning both I and my child sleeps until 8am, so no morning coding that day either.

On Sunday night child falls asleep before 9pm but I'm both emotionally and physically spent that I can't even bring myself to start the computer. After an hour or two in from of the TV I'm asleep again.

    Continuation...

Monday morning 6am alarm, time to get up and go to work. I ssh in from my phone and start coding a little bit on my 1 hour bus ride. Mobile coverage is spotty so i I/O stops for minutes at the time.

For an idea that has been brewing for a week, I got a total of 5min of effective coding done, producing 5 lines of non functional code.

Moral of the story, completely give up on the idea to work on personal projects when you have a small child at home.
