There are tons of jobs with c# in my area but I am a Java/python dev. Currently working on a small web application in Django. Should I take time to learn C# and the .net framework while doing my other project? If yes to learning C#, should I develop in windows or just use monoDevelop in the linux (ubuntu) os I am currently using?

I found Django to be pretty comparable to ASP.NET MVC (instead of Model-View-Controller, Django would be Model-Template-View). I've heard .NET Core is pretty good, but I haven't tried it myself.

Go for it, it's not that hard if you come from java. Do it on windows tho, mono develop can suck a big one

@Alt-Grrr don't know yet because I never tried it :P
I intend on jumping around and getting a feel for different technologies throughout my career, but tbh I don't care where I start as long as I get some industry experience and have something on my resume. If it turns out I don't fancy C#, .net, the environment or whatever... I will look else where.

@dalastTomCruise I'm and a Java/Python dev but from the very little experience I have with C# it's seems easy to pick up quick from Java.
