I wanted you to notice that XHR (XML HTTP Request) is an acronym composed by two other acronyms and a word. Thank you for the attention

    So what you're saying is XHR is actually an acronym for eXtensible Markup Language Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol Request.

    Now that's a mouthful!

    Ever thought about PHP?

    PHP is an acronym for PHP Hypertext Preprocessor. Yes it's a bloody recursive acronym!

    @Wack I'm not going to expand that one. ;)

    Thats trivial, try GNU:
    GNU means GNUs not Unix, which means GNUs not Unix not Unix, which means GNUs not Unix not Unix not Unix, which means GNUs not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix, which means GNUs not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix, which means GNUs not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix, which means GNUs not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix not Unix not U

    @Wack I wonder why they chose "PHP". Why not JHP or FHP or *HP since the first letter is arbitrary.
    In my opinion the inventor gave it an embarrassing name which acronym was PHP, and when it became famous and they asked what "PHP" was for, he said the first thing pop in his mind

    Instead, about GNU, I like to think that's just an animal and he said it just for joke

    @crisz PHP originally stood for Personal Home Page, but they decided that was pretty lame and repurposed it.

    @devios1 so I got it lol

    @crisz You pretty much had it solved! 😂

    I once saw a talk about acronym density, it was like, the reason between the number of letters in the acronym and the number of letters in the expanded text. while he didn't talked about recursive acronyms he did mentioned it. I found it very interesting. iirc the acronym with the biggest density was ajax, which I don't remember for what it stands for

    @vhoyer Asynchronous Javascript And XML.

    @vhoyer if I don't get wrong it's "asynchronous javascript and xml", here xhr is still winning 😂

    @crisz @devios1 sorry, forgot to mention, he did this thing where, if there is an acronym in the acronym, we expand it to, recursively :)

    like devios did on his first comment

    @vhoyer I still think XHR wins
