    All of biology and society is based off of being like and learning from previous generations. You're only remarking on creativity or bravery to produce a novel result. But I think for the sake of sounding poetic (or trite), you're ignoring a very important concept which is summed up in the adage "don't reinvent the wheel." You can't *not* copy someone else in the sense that (A) 95% of our ideas aren't original, and (B) doing things that work is intrinsic to survival, especially when leaning it from others.

    @chadd17 ok, I think you are seeing this or looking at it from a different perception...Thing can only be said to be like and not the same a the other, BBM and Whats app are all Messaging App but each with is strength and uniqueness. (Summing up Don't reinvent the wheel). You can only make a difference if you made things better but not the same as the original. Copying and Improving on an invention or idea are different thing entirely..

    @chadd17 Their actual business practice. They claim to have innovated so many things. All the time. In reality, they just copied the idea. Let's take the smartwatch as an example. At the presentation, they acted as if the world had never seen a smartwatch ever before the Apple Watch...
