LEGIT FUCK ME!

So I use KDE Neon RN. One day, it randomly doesn't boot. Checked logs, sddm was fucked. Reinstalled. Everything worked fine for a day, next day: fucked. Reinstalled, disabled sddm (auto login) and then a day later: basically no services start / are missing and random parts of the os randomly crash.

Wtf do I do 😢

Never quite got the hang of tiling wm, so I just migrate my old configs.
But I'll give it a try one of these days

Get a memtest86 test done to rule out / find out possible RAM failures.

2 months ago I experienced something similar: it started with a game finding it's data corrupted, my video collection got truncated without obvious reason and finally the bootloader refused to boot. Turned out one of my RAM sticks didn't pass the tests. I contacted the manufacturer and eventually got a replacement.

    Well... my windows installation boots...

    OpenSuse leap installation failed.
    Manjaro installation failed.
Antergos randomly dose not want to reboot without turning it off and on again...

So yeah for the first time in over 10 years i'm thinking, windows is not that mutch of a clustetf@ck or pile of shit.

    Look into dmesg.
Analyse what the syslog/messages/sddm logs say
Look for disk and mainboard issues, an empty bios battery could also be a problem.
Or SystemD, it couod always be SystemD.

I can confirm this issue. Pissed me off.

Switched to Manjaro KDE. Never looked back.

@runfrodorun 10 years?! Plasma is already at Windows ME level. I would bet it will take no longer than 5 years. 6 at most :)

@everyone I think I found the cooperate. It seems to happen after I install SFML-dev. Rebooted multiple times before on multiple reinstalls but the system only fucks up after I set up my c++ env :/
