xecute3777yBose Quiet Comfort. 2 or 3 both are fine. 3 also has a wireless mode. Couple that with your choice of noise (brown,white etc) and you will be set.

Froot75397y+1 on Bose QC
I myself prefer some nice house music, never got the noise thing, it just annoys me 😁 -
++ on Bose QC35s
Can't go wrong with them. But they are a bit more on the expensive side.
If you gave us a budget that would be a bit more helpful! -
Snob20867yI have and love the Bose QC35... These are pretty pricey but in my opinion the best looking and also the best performing, especially when it comes to battery life.. great choice, 10/10

I also can vouch for the Bose headphones. My friend in my IT class got a pair (QuietControl 30 Bluetooth earphones - £259) and we were all very jealous of him. And the teacher would get annoyed when she could never get his attention by shouting at him, even when standing next to him.

Rocket3G2007yI have a pair of Sony MDR-1000X and I absolutely love it. The noise cancellation works like a charm, and has various noise cancelling modes and it can be turned off.

Froot75397yI have to add here that Bose QC are the best choice for active noise cancellation but not for the sound quality. Also, they are very flat sounding so if you want a little more kick then these are not for you. Defenately try them before you buy. Also, active noise cancellation always takes away from sound quality since it works by injecting "counter sounds" which fuck with your sound quality.

brahn15747yCan't beat the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 as the folks point out, sound quality is very acceptable to me, active noise cancelling is next to none, and they're comfortable enough to wear for hours even with glasses or other gadgetry getting in the way. (Though you will experience behind-the-ear sweat!)
good active noise cancellation headset for coding ... any suggestions please
