A rant is a rant but sometimes you need to step back and look around to the colleagues you rant about.

In the end they are people with fears and doubts just like you and they need to start somewhere to learning, doesn't matter if it is spaghetti code, good practices etc. Just be a good coach and explain how to do the things.

In the end they will learn something and in my case, I prefer to be seen like the guy who helps rather then the guy who just complains.

    And still there are guys that will never learn, even after many years of experience.
    I know one guy that I'm really afraid of every line of code he is writing, because I've seen nothing good at all from him even after 10 years. And he is really proud of his work and tells everyone what genius things he's done.
    He doesn't even follow the style guide...

    Some people don't want to helped though, or think they don't need it. And you can't help others unless they are open to it. That said I do agree, always be there for the team, and remember that doing good comes back to you.
