I'm sorry I know this isn't related in any way to deving but honestly I am shitting a brick over this referendum, I am fairly fucked if we leave

    Hmm, well the first set of votes from Gibraltar are just in and thankfully they've voted remain, also there's the issue that here in NI and in Scotland because of the threats to force independence and reunification referendums if the UK votes leave you could have hard core Irish and Scottish nationalists voting leave just to try and push for the referendum they want

    @hidden I think it's going to be interesting and actually does impact on deving and skilled professions in general as we are the ones who companies tend to move around the world (and the EU) as they expand or need a certain set of expertise when an office isn't up to scratch.

    @g-m-f Can't believe leave have edged ahead at the moment 😮

    Trends so far suggest its gonna be a leave 😕

    I hope to fuck not, it we leave and there's a vote of Irish reunification which is successful (which it may be if we leave) I'll have to get private health insurance l, pay water tax and pay substantially more income tax, I can't afford a leave vote

    Aye, Nissan are actually suing the leave campaign right now for wrongful use of their brand in their campaign claiming they were in favour of leave when they said they wanted to stay

    @hidden SHIT Kettering have followed trend and voted leave as well, leave currently have about 20k leas 😤😭😦

    Here on the bright side have a look at the BBC websites live map with the voter distribution, like 90%+ is still white with no result and 20,000 could easily be covered by 2 or 3 constituencies being won by remain so this would appear to be one of those referendums that will be like watching a tennis match

    @hidden Yeah, but if the trends continue how they are Englands pop is larger than Scotland and Wales... I just seen an NI vote Leave though which bucks the trend a bit

    I know I can't believe Antrim Voted leave, but I'm hopeful that west Belfast, mid-Ulster and south belfast should all vote remain given their MLA's and MP's as well as the chatter I've heard locally

    imagine all the funding cuts for R&Ds if we leave.

    Honestly, my bigger concern now isn't the UK leaving the EU its that the UK might cease to exist as a union in itself 😞

    @hidden Curiously enough, Scotland voted remain! I guess it's not their nationalists we should have worried about.

    What scares me the most is that, if things go south, EU nationals in the UK will have plenty of places to go to (the EU is not dismantling over this). But the British will have no where to run.

    Did any of you guys vote?
  • 1
    @coldfury Yes, I voted

    @burtybob Nice one. I'm not from the UK, but voting is your civil duty.

    I wasn't able to due to unforeseen circumstances but I've been doing some maths and this entire vote seems a bit unfair, the majority of the electorate are in England, and even if all of the UK outside England voted remain, if 17,357,796 people voted leave in England everyone would still be forced out, not the fact that one country has the ability to force 4 others to do what it wants based on what their electorate wants seems a bit unfair does it not?

    @hidden That's the pro-leave argument right there!

    Paradoxical, isn't it?

    @hidden The pure maths does work that way, but you need to consider that London is a highly safe bet as voting to remain. They are by and large big MNCs in London who employ a lot of travelling workers. I'd go as far as saying it's London that kept the battle as close as it was
