    Then tell him - he can't do anything about it if he doesn't know that it disturbs someone.

    I think using a mechanical keyboard at the office and specially without asking your near coworkers if they dont get annoyed by it is just damn disrespectful, just use that damn stuff in home then

    You wouldnt tell a construction worker to only use inefficient cheap plastic tools when you hire him do you?

    Mechanical keyboards are practicly mandatory when working 8+ hours a day. Just don't take blue mx switches, those are too loud. Browns are OK for office work.

    @AlexDeLarge The sound of productivity.

    @erik404 Yes, if the construction worker was working in a quite zone I would definitely expect them to use the Silent Yet Fully Functioning Tool over the Super Annoying Brain Destroying Loud AF Tool.

    @demiko membrane keyboard and switch keyboard are 2 different worlds. You don't have to push membrane keys, just a slight touch to make a connection. Switch you have to actually press.

    Difference is that you use the wrong tendon movements on membrane keys which result in stiff fingers, on mechanic you actually use muscles/tendons.

    The information comes from a article about office health I've red a while ago. Don't know if it 100% factual but I notice the difference. A lot.

    @demiko brown mx switches are quiet. You can put special o-rings on the switches which makes them even more quiet.
