So my boss doesn't want to pay devs to stay late and work overtime.

However, he does expect the last one in the office to stay and fix the issue.

Good thing I gave notice a couple of weeks ago.

if i was hourly, my yearly bring home would double with all the OT i put in....

how the hell do yall get an hourly dev job???

@mattwebdev we're on fixed time (37 hours a week). If I'm expected to work 50 hours one week, I'd expect some compensation or time off in return.

Living in Sweden is Great, 36 hour weeks, 4 weeks paid leave, paid sickdays (albeit lower). If I work overtime i get paid more, if i get called in on a Day of i get paid double, if i work on a big holoday i get 150% of what i would usualy get, including overtime pay. full health insurence, money for gym to stay healthy and the list just goes on.

@fabbs I've looked into sweden, my issue is there just arnt as many dev jobs...so employers have the power in interviews.

I like being able to walk into an interview and be in the position of "if you don't like what I have to offer, your competitor will."

@mattwebdev sure that is True, but if you get the position you would probably be happy. Depending on the workplace ofcourse. Besides, Sweden is perfect for developers, dark half the year, fika, and no one will bother you if the abdolutely dont have to :D
